I remember four years ago like it was yesterday.  My ex and I were divorcing and I started to spend the weekends with my daughter taking pictures of everything we did.  Sometimes I took a lot of them.  Sometimes only a few.  But I wanted to document everything.  So when Christmas came, I wanted to give something to my daughter to help her remember them.  I decided to create a PowerPoint presentation with all of the pictures from the year, set to a soundtrack.  I spent hours selecting each song and fitting the pictures into the music.  And then I manipulated each picture and added in captions where appropriate.  With hundreds of pictures, I needed eight songs to get through all of them.  It was exhausting, but the effort was worth it.  Because I created something for my daughter which she would never forget.  She had a Merry Christmas.

I would have loved to have done something similar for you.  I wish I had more from each and every visitor here at the guide, so I could spend the time giving back to you the way you have given to me.  Whether it was encouragement on each and every post, giving me support behind the scenes as you have helped my blog to grow, checking in on me as my dad has gone through heart surgery, or just sending positive thoughts and unicorns my way, I cannot thank you all enough for the year that has transpired.  It has been an amazing year, and I hope for an amazing year to come.

What I will do is announce the plan for next month, which will keep me hopping for sure.  So we shall see how it goes.  I am partnering with Brandi Kennedy of the blog Brandi Kennedy: Love Stories and Lifestyle for the Undaunted Woman.  She and I will be doing similar posts from a Single Dad’s Perspective and a Single Mom’s Perspective.  It will be exciting to see how the journey of the next month will go.  But be sure not to miss it.  January 1 – 31 (except on Sundays)

So as we go into 2018 I want to say thank again for all you have done.  Have a wonderful Christmas full of love and joy.  And may all of our next year be one of peace and love towards everyone.  And with this I will depart, leaving you the top 17 posts of 2017 to remember.  If you haven’t checked them out, you definitely should give them a read.
