It’s so crazy to think I am coming to the end of my first year blogging, and I have had so many different things happen this past year.  From the very beginning, starting a blog out to reach out to other single fathers and parents out there, to working with various companies like Knott’s Berry Farm, I have enjoyed the journey that I have been on.  But I don’t want the journey to end, which means I have to make those things called goals and plans.  Because if I don’t have any idea where I am going, how will I know when I have arrived?  So along with Brandi Kennedy at Brandi Kennedy: Love Stories and Lifestyle for the Undaunted Woman, we are focusing on our goals today, the third of January.  And then I hope you all will keep me accountable for the goals I have established for myself and the blog.

As I was putting together my goals for my blog, I started to think about the things which were important to me.  Some things I have control over, like the effort I put out to do certain things.  Some things I have no control over, like how many people will come to visit my site over time.  Certainly, I can do things to put my blog in a position to succeed, but I don’t have control over how many people come out to be a part.  So in my goals, I wanted to focus on the things I could do, and not focus on those things I have no control over.  At the same time, I want to lay down some benchmarks of goals I want to accomplish for the coming few months.  And the only way to do that is to look at the numbers I have for followers and visitors to my site.

Basically, what I am saying is that I want for my goals list is to have a good balance between the things that I know I can do and those goals I have for myself about growth and development over time.  So with this in mind, I put together a list of accomplishments for the next few months that I felt like were reasonable achievements for my blog and growth.  And in three months I will come back to this and see how I did as it comes to growth.  So thank you in advance for your being part of my blog, and for keeping me accountable as it comes to the growth of my blog.  And before I put you to sleep, I give you my 2018 First Quarter Goals for The Single Dad’s Guide to Life.

2018 First Quarter Goals For The Single Dad’s Guide To Life

1)  Growth Goals –

My current statistics include:

13,100 monthly visits to my blog  /  3528 subscribers

82,000 monthly visits to my Pinterest account / 514 Followers

63,400 impressions per month on Twitter  /  2441 Followers

4400 impressions per month on Instagram  /  1350 Followers

1500 engagements per month on Facebook  /  836 Followers

My 3 Month Goals:

20,000 monthly visits to my blog / 4000 subscribers

100,000 monthly visits to Pinterest /  600 Followers

100,000 monthly impressions on Twitter  /  2750 Followers

6000 impressions per month on Instagram  /  1500 Followers

2500 engagements per month on Facebook  /  1000 Followers

2)  Sponsorship Goals –

I have one Blog Ambassadorship I will announce in the coming months so I am not so sure whether I will be able to get new Ambassadorships in the meantime.  But my goal will be to increase my sponsored posts to at least three per month.

3)  Advertising –

I admit that I am nervous about getting adding advertising to the site.  And when I do, I promise it will be limited to brands which mesh well with my brand.  So I want to apply for ads through Google Adsense and Amazon affiliates and see what happens in the next few months.

4)  Guest Blogging –

I am excited to be working with Brandi for the month of January, but I would like to work with some other bloggers out there.  I hope to at least work with two other bloggers on posts in the next few months.  And I would love to have someone guest post on my blog as well.  We shall see how it goes.

5)  Blogging Education –

I want to up my goals this year an learn how to do more when it comes to my blogging.  This means spending some time educating myself about various different things when it comes to blogging.  I want to learn how to reduce my page loading time.  I want to be able to have more graphics on my blog.  Also, I want to finally put together my media kit for my blog. I need to spend time educating myself about how to put all of that together.

What’s Next?

So basically it comes down to whether I am able to accomplish these goals or not.  So it means taking the time to pursue these various goals with a dedicated focus on accomplishing them.  If anyone would love to collaborate with me or wishes to work with me on any of the goals, please shoot me a line.  You can use the contact page to get in touch with me, and I will get back to you as soon as I can.  I am excited to see where things will be going in the next few months as we are coming to my blogaversary. Thanks for being a part of the journey.  I could not have come this far without you.  And I look forward to getting to spend more time getting to know you over the next few months.  May you be blessed the way you all have been a blessing to me.
